Downing, Davey, Vokins & Mann, LLC Text message program

SMS Terms & Conditions

Effective September 22, 2026. These terms govern the DDVM Law Client Messaging program operated by Downing, Davey, Vokins & Mann, LLC, a Kansas limited liability company and the registered sender of these messages.

Program description

DDVM Law sends text messages to clients and prospective clients about their own legal matters: appointment, hearing and deadline reminders, status updates, requests for documents or signatures, and replies to questions you have sent us. This is client service messaging. We do not send advertising, solicitations or promotional offers by text.

How you join

You join only by giving express written consent — on our online sign-up form, on an intake or engagement form, or by telling us in writing that we may text you. Consent is not a condition of hiring the firm, of becoming a client, or of receiving any legal service. If you do not consent, we will reach you by telephone, mail or email instead and nothing about your representation changes.

Message frequency

Message frequency varies with the activity in your matter. Most clients receive a few messages a month. A week with a hearing or a filing deadline may bring more.

Cost

We do not charge for these messages. Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile carrier and plan.

How to stop

Reply STOP to any message from us at any time. We will send a single confirmation and then no further messages to that number. You may also call 785-330-5577 or email inquiries@ddvmlaw.com and ask us to stop. Opting out of texts does not affect your representation or any other way we communicate with you.

How to get help

Reply HELP to any message, call 785-330-5577, or email inquiries@ddvmlaw.com.

Carriers

Delivery is not guaranteed. Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Supported carriers may change without notice.

Text messages are not confidential, and not for emergencies

Text messages are not a secure or confidential channel. They can be read on a lock screen, backed up by your phone, or seen by anyone with access to your device, and they pass through carriers and our messaging vendor. Do not send confidential, privileged or sensitive information by text — call the office or use a secure file exchange instead. Sending or receiving a text does not by itself create an attorney-client relationship, and nothing in a text is legal advice you should act on without speaking with your attorney. Never rely on a text message for anything urgent or deadline-driven: call 785-330-5577, and in an emergency call 911.

Changes

We may update these terms; the effective date above will change when we do. Material changes to the program will be disclosed before they take effect.
